The infamous chipmunks trio is back on the airwaves singing with their cute, squeaking, and melodious voices. But this time, a rival group is beating them head to head and it is an all girls show. The group’s name is called The Chipettes. The girl band is also a trio with members namely: Brittany, Eleanor and Jeanette. The sequel is entitled “Alvin and the Chipmunks II: The Squeakquel.  In the movie’s official trailer, the Chipettes were introduced singing Beyonce’s hit single, All The Single Ladies. The Chipettes did a bubbly rendition of the song. As expected, they sang it with a squeaking voice and did I mention, cuuuute (I  have to put an emphasis to this word) and lovely. The movie is directed by Betty Thomas and the voices of the Chipettes are Christina Applegate (Brittany), Amy Poehler (Eleanor), and Anna Faris (Jeanette). Here is the lyrics of the song:

All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies

Now put your hands up
Up in the club, we just broke up
I’m doing my own little thing
Decided to dip and now you wanna trip
Cause another brother noticed me

I’m up on him, he up on me
Don’t pay him any attention
Just cried my tears, for three good years
Ya can’t be mad at me

Cause if you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don’t be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Oh, oh, oh

If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don’t be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it

I got gloss on my lips, a man on my hips
Got me tighter in my Dereon jeans
Acting up, drink in my cup
I can care less what you think

I need no permission, did I mention
Don’t pay him any attention
Cause you had your turn and now you gonna learn
What it really feels like to miss me

Cause if you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don’t be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Oh, oh, oh

If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don’t be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Oh, oh, oh

Don’t treat me to the things of the world
I’m not that kind of girl
Your love is what I prefer, what I deserve

Here’s a man that makes me then takes me
And delivers me to a destiny, to infinity and beyond
Pull me into your arms, say I’m the one you own
If you don’t, you’ll be alone
And like a ghost Ill be gone

All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies
Now put your hands up, oh, oh, oh

Cause if you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don’t be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Oh, oh, oh

If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don’t be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Oh, oh, oh

Beyonce’s second single, All The Single Ladies is very fitting for the Chipettes group since it talks about women. It has a sense of women empowerment. It also features the popular dance craze which the lady chipmunks performed adorably making the movie more appealing and a lot more interesting and entertaining. This performance by the Chipettes is a must-watch scene on the movie. Hurry now and start booking for tickets for the premiere of the movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks II: The Squeakquel and you’re in for a fun ride. I’m pretty sure everyone especially the kids will be going out of the moviehouse suffering the Last Song Syndrome (LSS) -  singing tunes of the different songs featured especially All The Single Ladies.

The return of the infamous trio will be dominating the world in cinemas this coming late December 2009. Alvin and the Chipmunks are back and more. (I meant literally more, 100% more!)  The best furry trio has a rival this time; a female group of three (also) of Chipmunks called The Chipettes. Alvin and company are now facing some dilemmas in handling career and a normal life. Your Christmas will be so much fun most especially with this light and fun film. What makes it more fun are the entertaining and lively music from the rival bands. As expected, the film will be having much singing (of course, from the cute little Chipmunks). So, let’s take a peek on the list of soundtracks featured on the said movie.

Alvin and the Chipmunks II: Squeakquel Tracklist

01. The Chipmunks – You Really Got Me (Feat. Honor Society)
02. The Chipettes – Hot N Cold
03. The Chipettes – So What
04. The Chipmunks – You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)
05. The Chipettes – Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)
06. The Chipmunks – Bring It On
07. The Chipmunks – Stayin’ Alive
08. The Chipettes – The Song (Feat. Queensberry)
09. The Chipmunks – It’s OK
10. The Chipmunks & The Chipettes – Shake Your Groove Thing
11. The Chipettes – Put Your Records On
12. The Chipmunks – I Want To Know What Love Is
13. The Chipmunks & The Chipettes – We Are Family
14. The Chipettes – No One (Feat. Charice)
15. The Chipmunks & The Chipettes – I Gotta Feeling

The list of songs included sounds really lively and spells F-U-N especially with the Chipmunk-type-of-voice dubbing on the film and on the songs most especially. The tracks are a mixture of pop and RnB music. Surely, this will be a success once again after its debut film. The songs are full of energy and are very vibrant since it is what the movie is all about after all, sense of entertainment and fun with a good morale out of it (hence, track no. 13).

A little trivia for the movie, this movie is supposed to be released for March 2010 but is moved to December 2009 just in time for the Christmas season: a time of merriment and good vibes. Tune in for cute little Theodore and could he have a love interest on this sequel this time given that they have a rival now. Hmmm…the more you hate, the more you love.
